BIO-CLEAN

Bio-Clean is a special blend of bacteria and enzymes.
The bacteria are natural, not genetically-engineered.
The enzyme concentration is one of the most powerful on
the market!

SAFE
Bio-Clean is non-poisonous. It creates no heat, no fumes, no boiling like chemical drain cleaners, nor does it corrode or bend pipes. It does not attack live tissue nor inorganic materials, only organic wastes like grease, hair, food particles, paper, cotton & sewage. This makes Bio-Clean safe for people, plumbing and the environment. Bio-Clean changes the waste particles into water, carbon dioxide and mineral ash which run harmlessly out of your waste system. These elements are then available for plant life.

EFFECTIVE
Within an hour after pouring the bacteria into the slow drain, the bacteria begin to eat their way into the waste that has accumulated on the sides and top of the drain pipe. This is their natural food. They digest the waste and spread throughout your system, cleaning it completely.

Compared to other natural, liquid drain cleaners, Bio-Clean is more concentrated, more uniform, more stable and more economical. Some liquids depend upon preservatives to keep the bacteria dormant while in the bottle. Others may have a high percentage of surfactants to emulsify oils and fats - not digest them as Bio-Clean does.

MULTIPURPOSE
Bio-Clean
is great for residential/commercial drains as well as sewer pipes and many areas including:

  • Kitchen Sinks
  • Lavatories
  • Bath Tubs
  • Showers
  • Floor Drains
  • Laundry Drains

ECONOMICAL
  • 80-100 drain treatments per 2 lb. container (about 50-62 cents per treatment)
  • One 2lb. container treats a 1,000 gallon septic tank
  • Eliminates the need to frequently clean grease traps or snake drains, to buy dangerous chemicals and deodorant blocks (for urinals) as well as eliminating injuries to people caused by using dangerous chemicals.

HOW TO USE BIO CLEAN
In nature all animal and vegetable matter, from insects to mighty oaks, is broken down and recycled into plant food by enzymes and bacteria. Bio-Clean uses this same principle to biodegrade animal and vegetable waste in pipes.

Like all living things, bacteria must eat to survive. Fortunately certain types of bacteria will use for food the grease, hair, soap film and all the organic waste that tend to clog drains.

Enzymes act like short order cooks. They prepare food for bacteria by breaking large molecules down into a size the bacteria can "swallow." Each enzyme works on one specific type of molecule. For example, the protease enzyme only works on protein; lipase works only on fats.

The bacteria in Bio-Clean are dormant while in the jar. When mixed with water they come to life in about 30 minutes. In the meantime the enzymes are breaking down the waste. They are very fast. In fact, they work on contact. When the bacteria revive they are hungry. Each one eats its weight of waste every minute - and they never sleep! As a result of eating and growing they start to multiply through cell division. Their numbers will double every 30 minutes under favourable conditions.

Bio-Clean should be mixed with only warm (not hot) water and applied when no water will be drained for six to eight hours. This allows some of the bacteria time to embed themselves into the waste so they won't be washed out when water is drained again. Initially, Bio-Clean should be applied to each drain for the first 5 days. After that the maintenance schedule should be followed to remain problem-free. Complete instructions are inside each container.

Periodic maintenance treatments prevent new organic waste build-up, so no more slow drains, clogs or drain flies!

PROVEN RESULTS!

BEFORE BIO-CLEAN
1000 gal. home septic tank is shown here. As you can see there was a build-up of 10'' to 12'' of scum on the top of the tank. The tank was treated with 5 lbs. of Bio-Clean over a period of 3 weeks. The amount of Bio-Clean was based on a household of six people and the amount of sludge already present in the tank.

AFTER BIO-CLEAN
Five weeks later the tank was reopened for inspection and you can see the scum and sludge has been totally digested.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will Bio-Clean work on my clog?

If the material is biodegradable, yes. However, in most cases, the stoppage is not caused by a blob of something in the trap. Most likely, it is several feet of pipe that is filled with "gunk" and it may take several days for the bacteria to eat through this long blockage. Therefore, it is suggested that a mechanical cable be used to restore the flow first. Then begin BIO-CLEAN treatments to remove any remaining waste build-up. Regular monthly maintenance treatments will prevent new build-up.

How long will it take to see the results?

Some people notice improvement in a day or two. Almost everyone will see results in one to three weeks. Note: The cleaning process is not completed with the initial five day treatment. The time is determined by the type of material the buildup is comprised of (grease, soap, hair) and the length of the lines. Hair takes the longest to digest.

Should the toilet be flushed after pouring BIO-CLEAN into the bowl?

Do not flush for 6-8 hours. The quart of mixture poured into the bowl pushes one quart of water and mixture out of the bowl into the stack. The enzymes and bacteria carried out in the quart leaving the bowl are deposited on the gook coating the pipe. In the following 6-8 hours they embed themselves in the gunk so that when the toilet is next flushed they will not be flushed out.

Aren't chemical drain openers much stronger than BIO-CLEAN ?

The strongest chemical in the world can't climb the side walls of horizontal pipes. Gravity makes all chemicals run along the bottom. Nor can chemicals remove much waste in vertical pipes because they flow through so quickly. The bacteria in BIO-CLEAN are live and will go anywhere there is food. They will remove the gunk chemicals leave behind.  And BIO-CLEAN will not harm your pipes, your family or the environment.

Does BIO-CLEAN contain any acid, lye, solvents, perfume or poisonous substances?

No.

Will BIO-CLEAN attack tree roots?

Only roots that are completely dead. Roots enter sewer pipes seeking the rich organic food supplied by the buildup As roots feed on the waste they grow, branch out and eventually restrict flow. Periodic use of enough BIO-CLEAN and water to reach the root area will eliminate the waste they seek. In this manner, the use of BIO-CLEAN can discourage root growth in sewers.

Can BIO-CLEAN really help a septic system?

Absolutely- in several ways. The bacteria in BIO-CLEAN are specially selected to digest a larger variety of waste, and metabolize it faster than naturally occurring bacteria or yeast additives. Oils, fats, grease and paper are very difficult for septic bacteria to handle. BIO-CLEAN is very effective on these materials. It increases solids destruction, so fewer pumpings are needed and that means money saved. Bio-Clean digests 100% of all biodegradable waste where as Government Literature states that only 40% of the biodegradable waste is digested by the septic bacteria normally present in sewage.  More complete digestion also means fewer undigested solids leaving the tank. These solids would otherwise form a black gooey accumulation in the septic field and prevent water absorption by the soil. Therefore, BIO-CLEAN extends the life of a septic field.

Are any chemicals incompatible with septic systems?

Yes. all anti-bacterial products such as: Chlorine, germicidal products, anti-septics, sanitizers, chemical drain openers, paint, lye, acids, cationic surfactants and food preservatives. And in general, anything that is inorganic (not biodegradable).

Does a garbage disposal and/or automatic dishwasher affect a septic system?  If so, can Bio-Clean help?

Yes-in two ways. Disposals add greater loads. Without frequent BIO-CLEAN treatments, faster accumulation of solids in the tank occurs. Most automatic dishwashing compounds, either powder or gel, contain chlorine, which is damaging to all biological activity. For the least overall problems, don't use the disposal for material that could go into solid waste or be composted. Use non-chlorinated, biodegradable dishwashing compound and treat regularly with BIO-CLEAN. A complete list of recommended products is available from your authorized BIO-CLEAN dealer.

Does BIO-CLEAN stop odours?

Yes, by digesting the waste which is the source of odor.

Does BIO-CLEAN digest hair?

Yes. However, it does take much longer than most any other organic material. In drains, soap scum, skin oils, etc. bond hair to pipe surfaces. BIO-CLEAN digests these other materials more quickly, which releases the hair to wash downstream.

Does Bio-Clean work for drain flies?

Yes. BIO-CLEAN digests the waste that drain flies feed on and lay their eggs in.  Use BIO-CLEAN for 14 days in a row, then once a week for the first month and after that regular maintenance of once per month.  Be sure to treat all the drains at the same time.

Does BIO-CLEAN stop odours coming from a cat litter pan?

Definitely. Best results can be obtained by washing and drying pan and then sprinkling the bottom with BIO-CLEAN before adding new litter and coating the top with BIO-CLEAN.

What is the shelf life of BIO-CLEAN?

Several years if kept in a stable environment.
